About Power of Me Mother-Daughter Retreats

Power of Me Mother-Daughter Retreats help strengthens the bond between mothers and daughters. As daughters enter pre-teen years, they experience so many changes in their bodies. Often, these changes can have a big impact on how moms and daughters relate to each other.

Our retreats are designed to increase intimacy, help moms and daughters to understand what’s going on, and to provide valuable tools to assist in communicating at home.

What to Expect

The Mother Daughter Retreat begins with partner yoga. This is a fun and playful way for moms and daughters to deepen their bond.

After yoga, we split for workshops designed specifically for moms and daughters. Each will learn more about what’s going on at this stage in the daughter’s life, and how to interact peacefully.

Following the workshops, we’ll come back together for a hands-on experience to bring everything together. We’ll have the opportunity to practice what we learned in our workshops before ending the afternoon with a beautiful relaxation.

Open to moms and daughters in grades 4-8.

Teachers

Katie Thune, M.A. Ed., RYTkatie

Katie has over 20 years experience working with students with and without disabilities. She has her Teaching License in Health Education, and Special Education K-12, as well as her MA in Education: Developmental Disabilities. She worked as a teacher for Saint Paul Public Schools for 12 years. Katie is a certified yoga teacher (RYT-200) and Yoga Calm instructor.

Katie used her experience and knowledge to develop the Power of Me in 2014.

Samantha-110Samantha Moe, M.A. SLP

Samantha is a Certified Parent Coach whose passion is teaching practical ways to decrease stress.  Founder of the holistic and innovative Mad2Glad Blueprint, she guides parents in her step-by-step approach to dramatically reduce defiance and disrespect and re-establish confidence and authority.
