Lessons about sexual self-advocacy and relationships for adults of all abilities

Empowered Together is a curriculum and training program created by Mad Hatter Wellness designed to inform and empower individuals with disabilities in the context of interpersonal safety and connection. The curriculum, which emphasizes sexual self-advocacy and self-determination, aims to equip individuals with the essential skills and tools needed to engage in healthy relationships.

The program is designed to be co-facilitated by a trained individual with a disability (peer mentor) alongside a facilitator. In post-secondary education settings, interested students have the opportunity to participate in training to become peer mentors. These trained mentors can then facilitate lessons with a professional in other classrooms within the post-secondary program. This approach not only enhances the learning experience but also allows peer mentors to develop their leadership skills while feeling valued and supported within their community. 

Additionally, this curriculum can easily integrate into existing Career Technical Education programs by providing crucial training and leadership skills to peer mentors, further preparing them for future career opportunities and community engagement.
